Want to know more?....
Well, Firstly the most important thing to start off with is a cup of tea and a biscuit of course.
Once the group have shared with each other what their expectations of the day are then I begin a short intensive presentation which covers the imprtant basics of Photography: Exposure, Composition & Lighting.
This is all delivered in a very informal way including discussions on relevant topics that are important to the group.
Then it's time for you to get kitted up and head out into the heart of Birmingham to put what you've learned into practice.
I set a theme for the day, this could be around the seasons or about action, drama, colour etc.
This helps focus your mind and train your eye on specific details and helps to create photographs with more meaning.
Along the way I will offer out smaller challenges like shooting to a specific brief or approaching people for street portraits.
All this is designed to gently nudge you out of your comfort zone and improve your technique.
After we head back to the studio for a debrief and the group are encouraged to upload 3 of their best shots from the day to an online group for further constructive critique.
So far, we have had some great sessions and as the weather improves, more people are wanting to take their knowledge and skills up to the next level.
